Video 404: mad modified Nissan GT-R fails to thrill

You know how you sometimes click on a car clip that sounds so promising, and looks so good – and yet somehow, it just fails to deliver? It doesn’t matter how enticing the initial screenshot is, how artful the editing, how beautiful the camerawork, or how evocative the car, something about the video just doesn’t satisfy, and it’s usually the total lack of genuine action involving the car. That’s what we’re dealing with here. This is Video 404: satisfying content not found.

What better way to inaugurate our new Video 404 category than a wide-arch modified Nissan GT-R sweating raindrops like it’s straining at the leash?

The video starts off promising, too – it’s nicely shot, cutting from the fine detail to the massive front tyres pushing a bow wave of water ahead of the car on a rain-soaked highway.

The 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 burbles away through a seriously loud and rather fruity pipe, ready for the blowers – and the video – to spool up, lighting the blue touch paper for entertainment.

And… nothing. No boost for the car, or the vid. Content not found.

Still, credit to the camera operator and the guys and gals who produced the final edit – and to be fair, the makers themselves say it was never meant to be, as they got kicked out of all their filming locations. But what a hella hard looking car. Check it out for yourself below.
